All our visits are by car unless otherwise stated but please arrange to car share where possible.
Our first visit this year will be to Burnby Hall Gardens on Friday 29 April 2022.
This is a follow up to the talk we had earlier which showcased the newly revamped rock and bog gardens, made possible by Heritage funding which restored the Backhouse designed and built rock garden to its former glory.
The gardens hold the National Collection of Hardy Waterlilies (Nymphaea) which are at their best from mid June to late August, and well worth a visit in high summer.
Our next visit will be to Millrace Garden on Friday 20 May 2022
It boasts large herbaceous borders containing over 3000 perennial varieties and many drought tolerant and unusual shrubs and trees. There’s plenty to look at with wildlife lakes, vegetable garden, walled terraces, a small woodland, a wild flower meadow, bog garden and ornamental pond, and there will be a plant stall.
On Wednesday 21 June 2022 we have a visit planned to Horticap at Bluecoat Wood Nurseries, which will be our first visit since 2017. This is an independent registered charity which helps adults with a range of disabilities acquire a range of skills, in horticulture and rural crafts.
Developments there include a new restaurant and shop, offering tea time treats, plants and garden items galore.
Our next outing is on Saturday 18 June 2022 to Bridgewater, the new RHS garden, which will be by coach.
Saturday 2 July 2022 will find us at Tythe Farm House, a former working farm with traditional buildings, with its secret garden extending to 10 acres, developed over 25 years.
Mature gardens, orchards, deciduous woodlands, courtyard, herbaceous and rose gardens and Italian sculptures and lots more.
On 28 July 2022 we shall be at The Nursery Knapton with its amazing fruit, vegetable and wildlife gardens.
And of course, home made cream teas and plants.

Littlethorpe Manor on Monday 22 August 2022
where a relatively simple garden has been transformed into an English arcadia style park and gardens with a new development.
In 2021 the tennis court was transformed into a memorial Physic garden celebrating the family connection to the medical profession.
